Sunflowers and a Smile!

Hello Everyone!

Michelle here from the Design Team and for today’s inspiration, I have a cheerful little mouse to give you sunflowers and a smile!

I thought I would try something different and create a clean and simple card with some soft colours compared to my usual style of bright colours and a busy scene.

Here are the stamp sets and dies used:

To start off, I stamped all my images out on white cardstock, coloured them in with alcohol markers and highlighted them with a white gel pen. I then arranged the flowers and foliage together like a bouquet with the mouse peeking out to give a bit of whimsy.

Next, I die cut a piece of white cardstock using the 6th square die (counting inwards from the largest) from the Simple Square nesting die. I then used some Saltwater Taffy Distress Oxide ink as a watercolour to create the soft pink background. Once that part was dry, I splattered some more Saltwater Taffy ink.

For the sentiment, to give it some height, I die cut this twice and glued them together - once from white cardstock and once from cardstock that I ink blended with Saltwater Taffy Distress Oxide ink to help it tie in with the background.

When all parts were ready, I adhered everything down with liquid glue and foam tape to create the final card.

The clean and simple style was harder that I thought but think I got halfway there! Overall, I liked how the card turn out and hope it brightens your day.

Happy Crafting,
Michelle
