Happy Easter!

Hi everyone! I hope you're having a great Easter weekend?
I'm a little late posting this as I've had a busy few days planning the new release (6th April in case you hadn't noticed my new header - hee hee :). I've got a load of exciting new things coming up that I can't wait to share with you :)
I've also had busy afternoon running around after my niece who is just gorgeous and sooooo energetic!
So I'm finally enjoying a relaxing brew & catching up on my favourite blogs & sorting myself out!
Here's my card for the weekend using Daisy Chains Digi who you can get here.

I used these gorgeous card blanks from Which Craft?. I found them at the recent Craft Show in Harrogate. Their samples were gorgeous & these scallop circle cards make perfect bases.

As usual I coloured her with Promarkers & Copics. I used a sparkly gel pen on the flowers but you can't really tell in the photo :(.

The flower arrangement took a bit of fiddlying with to get right to be honest. I think it turned out well in the end. The finishing touch was the ribbon which is actually a pale pink grosgrain that I coloured using a Wink of Stella Glitter pen! Again you can't really tell in the photo but the ribbon has a subtle sparkle to it now & its the perfect aged pink to go with my backing paper. Love it!

I decorated the inside of my easel with cordinating papers & small label tag outlined in pink pen faux stitches.

All the papers are from Lilly of The Valley, also purchased at the Harrogate Show. This pack is from the NitWit Collections & is called Perfect Pair. I love the pretty Spring time colours.
I hope you like her. I will be back in the morning with a little freebie so please stop by.
Happy Easter!

Easter Chick Picture Frame

I'm loving this Easter Chick image so much at the moment & I have coloured her in a couple of times but not really made her into a card. I've been wondering what to do with this particular scene & then I had an idea that she might look good in a custom made picture frame!
First of all I chose my patterned paper & measured it by wrapping it around my frame like a parcel. I don't do proper measuring! haha!

This stuff is amazing! Mod podge! Its an adhesive & sealant all in one. I used it to adhere my papers to the frame but also to seal it all once it was covered.

I did the longest edges first. The frame incidently was from the pound shop! Bargain!

The shorter edges were next & I folded the corners in again like a parcel. It was a little fiddly but once my creases were scored it was fine.

I then added some simple embellishments to decorate. I decided to keep it simple & let the image do all the talking in the end, although I feel it may need a little something more... Can't think what though. Ideas anyone?

I think she would look pretty in a little girls bedroom perhaps? She's currently cheering up one of my crafty shelves though looking out onto thick snow outside!
Thanks for stopping by :)

Easter Blog Party Time!!

Hi everyone & welcome if you are a first time visitor to Time For Tea! I'm so glad you have joined me & I hope you are enjoying the Easter Blog Party!
Time For Tea Designs is my crafty space for sharing my digital stamps with the world & I really hope you become a follower to be the first to find out about new releases, inspiration & exclusive freebies & giveaways!!
Here is the card I am sharing today along with some surprise freebies so please do stick around :)

This is 'Easter Chick' digi stamp & she is available here in my Etsy shop. She is perfect for Spring & Easter & if you love colouring she's loads of fun.
Here's a short step by step showing how I put her together.
Step 1
Preparing my base card.

Using a Kraft Card 6x6 card blank I layered up my patterned papers at a 'jaunty' angle & matted on Bazill cardstock. As my Doily wasn't quite big enough I cut it in half so that the edges will poke out the side of my main image.
Step 2
Colouring my image
I coloured my image using a combination of different alcohol markers. I love Copics for skin tones & Promarkers for clothing. I used Flexmarkers for creating my scene which is the next step :)
Step 3
 Creating a scene

Creating a scene with your image is really simple but so much fun. I started by pencilling in some little grass squiggles & some simple flower sprays. I went over my pencil marks with a permanent fineliner pen as this won't run when you colour over with your Flexmarkers.
The sky is a great technique to try! Cut a cloud shape from card & then using small light circlular motions colour around your template with a light blue Flexmarker. I used 'Auqamarine'.

Remove the template & rub over the colour you have just put down with the wedge end of your Promarker Blender pen. This softens the edges & creates a fluffy cloud effect. Use the same technique to go around your figure too to 'place' her in the scene.
Step 4

I mounted my scene onto more Kraft cardstock & added my sentiment at 'jaunty' angles again down one side.
Step 5

I used my die cutting machine to cut out some cute shapes to add around the edges & embellish my card. I also really liked the idea of recreating the birds nest on the girls head as an extra embellishment too! Keep reading to see how you can get this little embellishment for yourself :)
Step 6
The Finishing Touch
These flowers are so sweet & with the Jute Twine arranged in a bow they do create the perfect finishing touch.
Here is the finished card with some pretty Tulips :)

As promised here are some little freebies to help you recreate this sweet card yourself. Just right click on the image below & save to you computer!

 Happy Easter sentiment
I really hope you've enjoyed this project & I'd love to see your comments if you do stop by!

Easter Chick Release

Hi everyone, I hope we're all well & warm? What's with this weather eh?? Crazy! It seems ridiculous to be releasing an Easter stamp when its snowing still outside but time moves on & it will soon be here so here is my latest release, Easter Chick!
As you can see I haven't made her into a card as yet. This is partly because she will feature in a Blog Hop with Papercraft Inspirations magazine on the 24th March & partly because I haven't had time :).
You can get her here.

I hope you like her & she gets you in the mood for Spring even if the weather isn't helping us!

Spring Flowers!

Well I am feeling in the mood for Spring today! :) I have been dying to make these cute flowers up since I visited the ICHF Trade Show in birmingahm recently. There was a similar version up on the Sizzix stand & they looked so sweet! Here is my take on it...

Sweet aren't they? Perfect table decorations for Easter I think.
This is how I made them.

First I painted some Kebab skewers in green acrylic paint.

Then I cut my circles out of patterned paper. I used a circle template & my 'pokey' tool to scratch out the shape. it didn't matter if the paper ripped or the cutting wasn't great as they will be distressed up anyway!

I filed the edges of the paper with an old nail file, layered them up & used a brad to bond them together.
I cut some leaf shapes out of contrasting paper & file the edges. By folding over the edge of my craft table I was able to file a leaf vein down the centre too.
I used a strong glue to attach the leaves to the flower stem & sticky pads to adhere the flower heads.
My bucket pots I've had for EVER & just never know what to do with them before. They're filled with some fake mini eggs that I got from Poundland! Yes Poundland! :)
I finished them with a bit of ribbon.

They are currently displayed here.. On top of my new storgae box from Create & Craft! they are amazing Kraft style cardboard storage boxes. To jazz mine up a bit I painted one side in Chalkboard paint so I can leave myself little messages every day haha!

I hope you like my Spring Flowers & they've made you feel a little bit 'Springy' :)

Demo Day 2nd March

Hi, finally I have a few minutes to update you on Saturdays demo day at Hobbycraft here in Sheffield!
Wow! What an amazing day it was! I never thought I would enjoy demoing so much! I was so nervous beforehand but everyone I met was soooo friendly & lovely about my work that the day just flew by! I was totally buzzing by the end of it.

The day also coincided with the release of my new collection & orders started to come through on the day from people who'd come to see me demo which was amazing!
I was so honoured that people had come back especially to see me after my first visit last month & had made the special trip after seeing my post on Facebook! I can't tell you how much that meant to me. It really was wonderful that people made that extra effort to come & see me.

This was my little table at the front of the store. I was in a perfect position this time right by the entrance. The staff at Hobbycraft were great & kept checking on me & making tannoy announcements to let people know I was there. I barely got a minute all day as people were constantly stopping by to ask questions. :)

This was a completed demo I did on the day of new digi 'Chin Up Buttercup'. I must admit she's becoming a favourite of mine as she soooo sweet & great to colour. I demo'd how to do the background with Flexmarkers. These are the packs that I used.
I've been asked a couple of times about doing a tutorial on colouring techniques on here & will definitely add it to my 'to do' list!
I've also been asked about workshops & will hopefully be putting a one together soon so I'll keep you posted!
Thank you if you came to see me Saturday & to everone who has purchased the digis, it really does mean the world to me to have your support :) x
