A New Vintage Hello

Hi. Design team member Koren Wiskman here. I hope that I can inspire you to create something fun with all of these awesome T4T supplies. Today I am using the Lets Chat Stamp Set and Coordinating Dies to create this project. I had to take another stab at creating a vintage phone card. This time I wanted to bump it up a couple of notches on the difficulty scale. Not hard, just slightly more difficult than the last set of vintage phone cards I created. 

The card size is A2 (4.25in x5.5in.) The front panel is cut to 3.25in x 4.75in. This is my favorite size card to create. I have tried so many others but this size is the one that keeps my heart happy. My card bases are typically made using a neutral gray cardstock. These two details about my cards rarely change. 

Background

I started by ink blending the white card panel using mustard and olive green colored inks. First creating the yellow vignette. Then I took a deco style stencil and added a bit more of that vintage feel with the pattern. Then I lightly went around the outside with the olive green. You may not be able to tell from the photos but the entire background has a piece of plastic wrapped around it. I used the thin acetate from the packaging of these very products I'm using. I simply scored the plastic and taped it to the back of the panel. It is popped up using craft foam and tear tape adhesive. 

Sentiment/Image

I heat embossed both the sentiment and the phone image from the Time for Tea Designs Lets Chat Stamp Set using white embossing powder onto navy cardstock. Each of these pieces are cut using the Coordinating Dies. They are also popped up using foam squares. 

Embellishments

The phone cord is blue and natural striped twine. I coated the twine with liqud adhesive and tightly wrapped it around a small screw driver. Why a screw driver? Because it was the right diameter to give me the size of cord I wanted for the image. After the glue dried, I gently removed the twine from the screw driver keeping it pretty tightly wound. It is attached to the phone using glue dots.
