Bee happy shaker card

Happy Monday, Tea Timers!

DT Natalia here - I hope you are having a lovely bank holiday weekend if you are in the UK - and a great start of the week if not!

Today's card features the Bee Hive slimline die and the Bee Happy Clear stamp and coordinating dies.

If you remember, I made another card with the bee hive die a few weeks ago, where I used the negative from the die cut. This time, I decided to use the positive and make a shaker card! If you know me, you know how much I love a shaker - I just think they are so much fun!

I started off by trimming a panel from yellow cardstock to the size of the slimline die. I then cut the the die from white cardstock to create my front panel.
I cut some acetate a bit smaller than my card front and adhered them together with some thin double sided tape. Once my window was ready, I used double sided foam tape to build my shaker. This is the best foam roll for shakers, I love that it is narrow and works great for smaller areas.

I filled in my shaker with some Nuvo sequins which I find very pretty, and then adhered my yellow panel on top to close it off. I used my stamping platform to guide me while putting these two panels together.

My card front was now good to go, and all I had to do was stamp and colour my bees and accessories. Aren't they super cute? I love them! I used a mix of my Spectrum Noir and my Ohuhu to colour the stamped images and then used the coordinating dies to cut them.

To mount them onto the card front, I used double sided foam tape. Lastly, I added the Bee Happy sentiment, stamped in white on black cardstock and that completed my card!

I hope you like it, remember to use the code T4TNEILA10 for a 10% off your shop!

You make me smile

Hello crafty friends! Silvia's here today.

It's too hot even to ink blending in these days, so I have a very easy peasy card to share with you.

I first cut a 5,5"x 4,25" panel from one of the new "Sweet Summer" paper pad and then I die cut the "Bee Hive Cover Plate" die from white cardstock.

I then stamped images from the "Bee Happy"stamp set, I colored with Spectrum Noir alcohol markers and I cut them with the coordinating dies.

I put everything together, I added one of the cute sentiments from the "Brighter Days Sentiments" and that's all.

Thank you so much for stopping by today and don’t forget you can get a 10% off your Time for Tea order with the code T4TSILVIA10.

Have a wonderful day. Hugs, Silvia.

Hello Cupcake!

Happy Saturday Teatimers, this weekend has come around so fast. It’s been so lovely to have a week off  just to chill. Also I got to spend some time creating more designs with the new release so be sure to keep an eye out for those.

My card for today is a sweet cupcake themed card using the new Hello Cupcake stamp and die collection. I teamed it with the Bee Hive Slimline Die which is just perfect for shaker cards.

To start my card I stamped out all my images and left them to the side whilst I cut out all my elements. I cut the Bee Hive Slimline out of white 360gsm card stock and then again out of fun foam to create the shaker base. The fun foam is so much easier than foam tape when you have dies like this. I did cut off some of the little hexagons on the foam tape where it was a cluster of them to make the shaker space bigger so the sequins would move more freely.

Once they where cut out I popped some acetate on top of the fun foam and then stuck the white card cut out on top of that. To make the shaker bit I flipped over the shaker and added my mix of sequins and added some cosmic shimmer glue to stick it. Then just popped some black card at the back this just gives it a pop of black and ties in with the sentiment which I white heat embossed onto the same black card stock. This was then stuck straight onto my white card base.

I went for a pretty pink theme for my card using light pinks for the icing and some RV’s for the wrapper. I added some dark shading at the bottom of the wrapper and used a rounded motion to give it a 3-D look. Then darker shading in the creases again to make it look 3-D. With the bun I used a combo of browns but added a few dots to give it a textured look.

For the icing I used the darker shade of pink on the bottom of the layers and to the sides where the shadows would be. I finished it up with some darker pink dots and some white dots with my Gelly Roll pen. I added the Gelly roll pen to the seeds of the strawberries too to give them a pop. The mice I used the same E35, E34 and E31 that I used for the bun and added some rosy cheeks with little white dots to finish them off. Then it was just time to stick them down on the card base, I do wish I had added some dimension to the stamped images popping up the little mice at the front a little more but I won't forget next time. After all we are all still learning and working on adding layers and dimension is something I need to think about more. I do hope you have liked my card for today though if you want to buy any of the products or anything else in the Time for Tea shop you can get 10% off your order using code T4TNATALIE10. I hope you all have a great weekend and I will see you all again next week!

Happy bee day!

Hello crafty friends and happy Monday from sunny Spain!

Yes, it is DT Natalia here with you today - as some of you know, I came over to visit my family - it has been sooo long since I was able to come - I am just happy!

How are you liking the new release? Which ones are your favourite? I did say I had my inspiration cards ready to go, and here is a bee one with the 'waste' (or as I call it, the negative) from the new Bee Hive slimline die.

I LOVE this die, I have made another card with it and it is a slimline shaker (coming soon!) and I can't wait to use it some more for other fun backgrounds.

Now let's dive into how I made this card!

The very first thing I did was choose my rainbow distress oxide colours for my hexagons. I went with:
  • kitsch flamingo
  • worn lipstick
  • ripe permission
  • squeezed lemonade
  • twisted citron
  • cracked pistachio
  • tumbled glass
Aren't distress oxides the best? I used the beautiful blender brushes (I have a few, different sizes). Once my panel was blended, I sprayed what I call 'perfect pearls water' - basically I have a small plastic spray bottle I fill up with water, and then I add a teaspoon or so of Perfect Pearls pigment powder - it is just SOOO shimmery! Impossible to capture on photos, but so nice in real life!

The best thing about this card? I still have the positive panel from the die cut to use for another one 😊

I also used the die cut with craft foam to use under my inked panel for dimension. The die cuts the foam like butter, it's brilliant! My foam happened to be a light pink which I thought was beautiful if you looked at from the side.

I assembled all my hexagons onto the foam with liquid glue and set them to a side.

For the card panel, I used 250gms cardstock and cut it to a 4x5.25". I then arranged my hexagons on the side - and guess what, I eye balled it! If you know me, you know I measure and make templates for EVERYTHING - but this time, I went for it and only used a T-ruler to help me align the inner raw of hexagons - I think it turned out alright! I used the Happy Bee Day sentiment from the All Occasions set directly onto my panel with some black Versafine ink.

Now my panel was ready, I stamped the cute bunny and bees from the All Occasions set, coloured them with my Spectrum Noir and used the coordinating dies to cut them out. I used double sided foam tape to give them some more dimension and added them onto my card panel.

Lastly, I used some candy floss pink cardstock and cut it to and A2 size (4.25x5.5") and used craft foam to mount my panel onto it. I love how the pink border ties it all up together!

If you haven't yet bought your new release goodies, you can use the code T4TNEILA10 to get a 10% off your order! Happy shopping!

Sending hugs,
Natalia
