Happy New Door Day Card- Yes its a Thing! :)

 Hi there!!

During this week's FB Live I made a fun project using my dies to create a shaped card. I was celebrating our new door being fitted this week with this Happy New Door Day card! Haha! Yes that is a thing - well in our house it is! :)

I used the Open the Door Die as the main focal point of the card and added to my scene with my Blooming Bunny Stamps, Home Sweet Home Stamps & the Slimline Scalloped Frame Dies for my roof. The Brick Wall stencil created my stone effect background. I even used my Home Sweet Home stamps to add a homely scene on the inside of my card.

Here are some pictures of my final card. I really love how it turned out.

The roof was a bit of a puzzle to start with but worked out great.

The little potted plant came from the Windmill Add On set.

When you open the cute red door you will find our adorable bunny inside to greet you.

I covered the inside of my door after filming with a matching piece of red cardstock.

I really couldn't stop adding to my scene as I loved how it was coming together. I had some of the Home Sweet Home images already coloured and die cut, so I ink blended a floor and then added a cosy living room scene on the inside of my card.

Face Book Live Cards In Close Up!

 Happy Bank Holiday Monday everyone!! I hope you are having a relaxing crafty weekend. Lets face it the weather isn't up to much is it? So, its the perfect excuse to be inside crafting! :)

I wanted to share with you the pictures I took of the 2 cards I made during our last FB Live. I love how these turned out. You can watch the replay on our YouTube Channel now too.

Both cards used images from the new Blooming Bunnies stamp set. I had already coloured these images with my Copic Markers.

The first card I made was a sweet and simple shaker card. I created the background with patterned papers which made it a really super quick make.

The second card was a again a really quick card to put together. Once the ink blended background was completed, I die cut it using the new Celebrate Scallop Dies. I then cut 4 of the sentiment 'Celebrate' & layered those up. I added a secondary sentiment using the Brighter Days Sentiment Strips. These strips make adding a message to your card so simple. I love them!

Mixing Ink Blended Backgrounds with Patterned Papers

Happy Friday everyone!! I hope you are all safe and well!

I am super excited to share this new card with you that I made during our last FB Live.

This card mixes an ink blended and stamped pattern with patterned papers. 

In the video I am attempting to match my ink blending to the patterned papers. Some bits were successful like my flooring which was ink blended and then stamped with the awesome A5 Woodgrain stamp.

You will see in the video that I attempted to match the frame with the blue in my patterned paper using Distress Oxides but in the end we decided not to use that element. Instead we cut the frame from Red cardstock and that really brought the scene together.

In the Live you would've seen just how I deliberated over each colour and combination of papers before settling on this. I cut this down for the YouTube video in the interests of time, however, I thought it was great to show how our crafting thought process works in real time and when you don't really have a plan, which I didn't. :)

The super cute cats were already coloured with my Copic Markers. This also added a further challenge as I wanted to make sure my whole project looked coordinated and like it had been planned this way.

I love this little mouse popping out of the cracker. I added some Glossy Accents and Stickles to the final images to add that special finishing touch.

On the inside of our card, which incidentally, is one our new A2 card bases, I added the joke sentiment strip and stamped our little mouse again using Distress Oxide Ink in Candied Apple.

Before I go today I did just want to let you all know that we have the brand new colour of Distress Oxide Ink & Spray in the shop. Its called Rustic Wilderness and its perfect for your winter woodland projects. I used  this to create the Woodgrain pattern for my floor in the card today.

Home Sweet Home - Making Your Sentiment the Centre Piece!

 

Happy Friday guys! Jo here with our update from last nights FB Live!

Today's card is a cosy home scene with our little Home Sweet Home Bear using our Home Sweet Home sentiment as the focal point.

I used the negative space from the die cut to make the decorative element in the centre of my card. I added the die cut word sweet in glitter card mounted on some fun foam for dimension.

In the video I show you how I use my Copics to colour the bear and this fun checked armchair. It's super easy but looks so cosy.

I used my Distress Oxides & Finetec Metallic Paints to create the splattered background on the focal panel.

I love the cosy autumnal colours and the cosy scene. During the live everyone felt our bear character was like a cute granddad bear reading his book by the fire. Adorable.

You're So Cool - FB Live Replay Card Making Tutorial

Happy Wednesday all!

On Saturday we had an impromptu FB Live Craft With Jo.

I was in a summer mood so decided to use the Life's A Beach set and a background I already had in my stash!

The Clear Drops are new in store and really make the background look cool, like water droplets on a glass of ice cold cocktail :)

In the video I show you how I colour our little girls skin and hair.

I used Glossy Accents to make my Ice Lolly look icy and my Wink of Stella Glitter Brush pen to make my Ice Cream look frosty.

I used our new Bubblegum cardstock to create my frame.

I really hope that this card brightens up what is a rainy day here in the UK.
