A cuppa thanks

Hi crafty friends!

For this quick and easy card, I used a stamp that I have had for a long time from Time for Tea but never got round to using it - the Plaid background stamp set - I love the pattern on that stamp, it is so pretty. Instead of using ink, I decided to do some heat embossing with it. That blue is just gorgeous! It is hard to capture on the picture, but it is a bit glittery. It is Cummerbund from Catherine Pooler. I cut that to a square shape to fit on my A2 panel nicely. 

I then stamped the fun cat, panda and sugar cubes from the Terrific Pals stamp set and coloured them in with my Spectrum Noir alcohol markers.  I went for pastel colours this time as that would go well with the background. 

I used the coordinating die to cut them out and then arranged them on my background before sticking them down with double sided foam tape. To finish it off, I added the 'a cuppa thanks' sentiment on black cardstock with white embossing. I die cut it three time to build some dimension, which I think makes a huge difference on a card!

Sending you love snails!

Hello Teatimers! 

DT Natalia with you today again - are you enjoying the lovely weather? I certainly am!

Today, I have another card I made with the cute You Got Mail stamp set, I cannot resist this set, I love it!

I used white ink on top of my inked blended background with the new Chic Chevrons stencil, which I find super cool!

Colouring the snail homes in a rainbow colour was totally inspired by the awesome Mona Toth - she shares colour guides on her profile, which I find both helpful and inspiring. It was lots of fun and I really think it makes the cute snails pop! I used my Spectrum Noir markers, and the colours I used are:

• Purples: HB1, LV1
• Pinks: BP2, BP5
• Oranges: BO1, OR2
• Yellows: CT1, CT2
• Greens: LG1, LG3
• Blues: BT1, BT3
• Snail body: PP1, PP3

I finished it off with a white heat embossed sentiment, which has a 4 layer dimension! And of course, some gems from My Little Things from Lucy's cards.

NEW MAY RELEASE! - You've got mail slimline

It is DT Natalia with you here today. It is bank holiday Monday here in the UK and I hope you are having a fantastic day.

For today's card, I used the You Got Mail stamp and coordinating die cuts as well as the Slimline postage stamp frame dies for by background. 

To start with, I used the plain rectangle from the Slimline postage stamp frame dies to cut two pieces of white cardstock - these will be for my grass and sky behind the frames. Using my Beautiful Blender Brushes, I used Salty Ocean and Broken China for the sky and Mowed Lawn, Lucky Clover and Twisted Citron for my grass panel. 

Next, I used the hillside and grass dies from the new Slimline hillside scenes dies set to cut my green panel into two sections so that I could layer them up, to add some dimension to the background. I also prepared both my slimline cardbase from white cardstock and my postage stamp outer panel from a light brown cardstock. 

OK now, I am a bit of a neat freak, and those three postage windows obviously had to line up perfectly - so I made myself a template! I calculated where each square should go so that it was equidistant from each border and between themselves, cut the square with a craft knife and then used that panel as a guide to position my individual postage square frame dies (I used the large one from the set). But I can tell you - they are perfectly aligned ☺ I would also love to know whether you are the kind of person that makes templates for die cutting and stencilling? or do you just eyeball it? My panel is now ready, and the next thing to do was stamp the you got mail stamps (multiple times to save myself time) and colour them. I used my Spectrum Noir markers and the colours are listed here: 

Snail 1: PP1,PP2, PP3, AP1; PP5; CT1, CT3, CT4

Snail 2: PP1,PP2, PP3, AP1; PP5; OR2, CR9, CR11

Tulips: BTs, BPs, HBs, LGs

Envelopes: BTs, HBs, DRs and BPs and stickles

Post box: CT1, CT3, CT4; OR1, OR3 and OR4

Ladybird: TN1, TN2, TN3; DR1, DR3, DR5; true black and stickles

Mushrooms: DR1, DR2, DR4; BG2, BG3, BG4, BG7
