It’s Your Birthday.....Say Cheese!!

Hello Vic here today with a cute birthday card that’s perfect for a cheese lover! I’ve also made a YouTube video tutorial so you can craft along if you wish.

Say Cheese!! Ink Blending A Cover Plate Die

I had so much fun making this card!
Here are the steps to create your your card:

To start with I used the Baked With Love Stamp set and stamped out all my images that I wanted to use. I then coloured them in with my copic markers but feel free to use your preferred colouring medium.

Once all the images are coloured I used the Baked With Love Coordinating Die Set and used some washi tape to temporarily stick them down. I then run this through my die cutting machine. Once the images are all pushed out place them aside for later.

I then used the Say Cheese Cover Plate Die and a piece of white card, again running this through my die cutting machine.

Once your cheese piece is die cut we’re going to be adding colour using distress inks. I stated using mustard seed and ink blended the whole piece of cheese in this colour. I then added some spiced marmalade and started to gently ink the edges of the cheese. To darken the cheese a little more I then went in with carved pumpkin distress ink.

Once this is all ink blended I added some drops of water using a brush and picked the ink up with some tissue. As these are distress inks adding droplets of water will lift up some of the ink giving you a more textured look.

Using another piece of A6 card I started ink blending the card using the same distress inks as before. I started with mustard seed and added spiced marmalade and carved pumpkin.

Once this is all done I added some drops of carved pumpkin with some water and a brush.

Next I added foam tape to the back of the die cut cheese piece but keep the backing tape on as you will need to place your images so that the mice are poking through the cheese. I then arranged the mice and added foam pads to the back of the images.

I still kept the backing on the images until all the mice were ready to be adhered down.

Once the mice are poking through the cheese and your happy with how they look remove all the backing of the foam tape and adhere onto your ink blended A6 piece of card.

I then moved onto my sentiment. I used the sentiments from the Baked With Love Stamp Set and stamped the greetings onto some black card with versamark ink and sprinkled white embossing powder over the top. I then heat set this with my heat gun.

Once this was done I trimmed the sentiment down with a paper trimmer.

I then adhered these to my card using foam tape. I also added the other images onto my card using foam pads and PVA glue.

Once all this is complete I adhered my card front to my card base using double sided tape.

Your cheese card is now complete!

You can see the water droplets and ink splatters that we made earlier giving the cheese an added texture.

I loved making this card and don’t forget you can see all the gorgeous Time For Tea Designs products  on the shop HERE.

I hope you enjoyed the video and tutorial thanks so much for stopping by today!
