Shaker Fintastic Friends!

Hello everyone!

Michelle here from the Design Team with a bubbly little shaker card that’s swimming in cuteness. This undersea crew is sending hugs and good vibes to a fintastic friend, complete with sparkle and splash!

The background was ink blended in ocean blues (Peacock Feathers and Salty Ocean Distress Oxides) and layered with waves to create a fun little scene. I filled the shaker with a mix of sequins in blues, greens and yellows to match the tropical colours of the fish. 

Each character was stamped and coloured with alcohol markers. White gel highlights were added and then arranged to float around the frame.

I love how the octopus takes centre stage, surrounded by fishy friends, a happy crab and a smiley turtle. The whole card just feels joyful and full of movement!

Fishing Fun!

Hello Everyone!

Design Team member Michelle here with a splashy little card full of sunshine, trees, and some seriously cute fishing fun. This sweet mouse is having a relaxing day by the water while their fluffy sheep friend cheers them on from the shore.

For the sky, I ink blended soft yellows and oranges. For the water, I die cut waves, ink blended with a mix of blues before layering them together with foam tape. I also added a few splatters and sparkles to make everything feel extra fresh. 

The dock, trees, and critters were stamped or printed, coloured with alcohol markers and pieced together to build this peaceful outdoor scene. I hand drew and coloured some rocks to add to the water's edge as I felt something was missing. 

For the sentiment, I used white heat embossing powder on dark blue cardstock and it makes me smile every time - may all your fishes come true!

This is a fun card for a birthday, encouragement, or just because.

Relaxing Time!

Hi Tea Timers!

Michelle here from the Design Team and this week’s inspiration is a bright and breezy card that’s all about soaking up the sunshine! These fluffy little sheep are having the best beach day and their adventures have been snapped as a pair of mini polaroid scenes to share with you all.

I started with a yellow ink blended sunburst background and added lots of splatter in white and gold metallic watercolour for texture. 

Each photo features a different seaside moment - a super chill sheep sitting with a tropical drink to another swimming with fish and turtles.  

The images were either printed or stamped out and then coloured with alcohol markers. White highlights were added using a gel pen.

For the swimming scene, I die cut waves, ink blended with shades of blue before splattering with metallic watercolour. Once the ink was dry, I cut them down to the size of the photo frame and then layered them one on top of each other to create my ocean.

For the beach scene, I ink blended some clouds, die cut a hillside that I ink blended with shades of brown to mimic sand. I then used some leftover waves from the swimming scene to add some water to my beach.

I used liquid glue to adhere all my images and layers. The white frame of the polaroid was propped up with foam tape to give dimension as well as make things more level as there was already a lot of layering! I added some images such as the shells, bucket and spade and Mr Crab outside of the frames to give an even more beachy feel.

The bold “relax” sentiment was die cut twice from alphabet dies from my stash. Once from bright yellow cardstock and the other from blue ombre ink blended cardstock to tie in with the rest of happy beach-day colours.  For final touches, the ocean and sentiment have splashes of sparkle from glitter glue.

Mixed Media Art Journal Ocean Scene

Happy Friday, DT Annalisa here! I've been wanting to try art journaling for a while and finally decided to take the plunge. I'm excited to share a page from my new mixed media art journal, featuring the Love Is in the Air stamp set and Slimline Porthole Dies.

In my A5 Stamperia Mixed Media Journal, I used a paintbrush along with Salty Ocean, Faded Jeans, and Peacock Feathers Distress Paint to cover the entire page. Then, I employed a sponge with white acrylic paint to create a textured white border.

Next, I applied white Embossing Paste to the page using a palette knife and the Making Waves stencil.

I stamped several images from the Love Is In the Air stamp set, colored them with Copics, and then cut them out using the coordinating dies. I added accents with a white gel pen using a Gelly Roll Pen and also included elements from the Fintastic Friends and Sealed With A Kiss stamp sets.

For the background, I used Fossilized Amber and Pumice Stone Distress Watercolor pencils on watercolor paper and splattered it with Rusty Hinge. I used the Slimline Porthole Dies to cut out three circles. Next, I ink-blended Walnut Stain Distress Ink onto woodgrain white cardstock and die-cut it using the same die set.

I also die-cut silver metallic paper to place behind the brown porthole sections. Using liquid glue, I assembled the porthole pieces and added critters to each one. Once the circles were complete, I attached them to the page with liquid glue.

Finally, I adhered the remaining stamped elements and sentiment to the page. To finish off the design, I used a white Posca pen to add bubbles above the fish.

A Splash of Underwater Fun!

Hello Everyone!

Michelle here today with a set of three coordinating bookmarks using the Bookmark Dies. 

Each bookmark is its own little moment, but line them up and you’ve got a full ocean adventure, complete with seaweed, bubbles, and some very fishy characters.

I stamped out all the images and some extras of the smaller fishes from the Fintastic Friends stamp set. I coloured them all using alcohol markers and added white highlights. 

I die cut the large main part of the bookmark three times from purple cardstock.

For the background of the inner parts of the bookmarks, I die cut them all from a piece of 6 x 5.5 inches white cardstock that was ink blended with Salvage Patina, Peacock Feathers, Salty Ocean and Chipped Sapphire Distress Oxides (you could also use blue cardstock to begin with if want reduce the amount of ink blending). I then splattered 2 shades of metallic blue watercolours over the top to give it the look of bubbles and the shimmery sea. 

Once everything was dry, I adhered the main bookmark and inner background sections together with liquid glue before laying out all the images to decide where I wanted them. This part took me longer than expected as I wanted to make sure that each bookmark had a main character as well as being balanced to stand out on its own and all together.

Ocean Waves

 

Happy Friday! DT Annalisa here today sharing an ocean-themed card I created using several adorable stamps from Time For Tea Designs. I love how many ocean critters are available now in the T4T portfolio as making ocean-themed cards is one of my favourite things to do! 

I used the following supplies to create the card:

I created an inky ocean using ink smooshing with peacock feathers Distress Ink, water and some acetate. I die-cut the panel with the Ocean Waves Dies and set it aside to dry. For the sand, I ink-blended Kraft cardstock with Vintage Photo Distress Oxide. I also added brown splatter with a paintbrush. I die-cut the panel with the Landscape Edge Standalone Die.

 

 

I added white water colour splatter to the ocean and sand background sections. I used liquid glue to adhere the ocean and sand sections to an A2 card base.

I stamped and coloured (with Copics) several images from the stamp sets listed above and cut them out with their coordinating dies. I added white gel pen accents with a Gelly Roll Pen.

I added sparkles to sections of the images with a Quickie Glue Pen and Lawn Fawn Prisma Glitter. 

I adhered the images to the card base using liquid glue or double-sided foam tape for dimension.

I stamped the ‘wavin' hello!’ sentiment from Fintastic Friends and cut it out with the coordinating die. I added double-sided foam tape to the back and stuck it down to complete the card.

Happy Friday! DT Annalisa here sharing a sea-themed card I created for my niece's 17th birthday. She has a friend obsessed with fishing, so I knew I had to use the Sealed With A Kiss and the coordinating dies for her birthday card.

I used water and Peacock Feathers Distress Ink on Distress Watercolor Cardstock by Ranger for the background panel. I did the 'ink smooshing' technique and liked how it turned out - the type of paper you use makes a BIG difference.

I adhered the water panel to an EU A6-sized card base. I used double-sided foam tape to stick the large frame from the Wide Stitched Frame Dies on top of the scene.

I stamped, and coloured (with Copics) several images from the stamp sets listed above and cut them out with their coordinating dies. I added white gel pen accents with a Gelly Roll Pen. I added sparkles to the edges of some images with a Quickie Glue Pen and Lawn Fawn Prisma Glitter.

I stuck the images to the card base using a combination of liquid glue and double-sided foam tape for dimension.

Waving Hello from Under the Sea

 

DT Annalisa waving hello to my fellow card fans today! I have an underwater scene created using stamps, dies and stencils from Time For Tea Designs.  I love creating ocean-themed cards and had so much fun making this one.

For the background, I used the Tiger Stripes 6 x6" Stencil. I used Mermaid Lagoon Distress Spray Stain on Distress Watercolor Cardstock by Ranger. I ink-blended Mermaid Lagoon Distress Oxide using my Beautiful Blender Brush to the white areas. I added splatter using a paintbrush, water and Copic opaque white. Once the panel was dry, I used double-sided tape to adhere it to a 4 1/4 by 5 3/4 inch card base.

For the stamp sets, I used Get Whale Soon (plus its' coordinating dies), Beach Buds (plus its' coordinating dies), Sealed With A Kiss (plus its' coordinating dies) and Fintastic Friends (plus its' coordinating dies). I coloured the images with Copic markers and added white gel pen accents with a Gelly Roll Pen.  

Next, I added sparkles to the edges of some images with a Quickie Glue Pen and Lawn Fawn Prisma Glitter. 

I used double-sided foam tape to adhere the frame I created using the Wide Stitched Frame Dies to the card base. I used liquid glue to stick all the images to the card. I adhered the sentiment using double-sided foam tape.

Wavin' Hello

 

Hello crafty people, Annalisa here with my latest DT card. This slimline ocean card uses the Beach Buds and Fintastic Friends stamp sets and features a wobbly octopus! I love the interactive element an action wobbler adds to a card.

I die-cut Distress White Heavy cardstock by Ranger with the Snow Flurry Cover Die. I ink-blended the negative pieces with Distress Ink using my Beautiful Rainbow Blender Brushes. 

The colours I used were as follows:

Sand bottom - Scattered Straw with Rusty Hinge splatter,

Ocean - Unchartered Mariner Ink, Salty Ocean & Salvaged Patina Oxide, 

Sky - Tumbled Glass. 

I adhered the stitched wavy die-cut to a slimline card base with liquid glue and added the ink-blended portions.

I stamped and coloured the sea creatures and other elements from Fintastic Friends and Beach Buds with Copic markers and added white Gelly Roll accents. I then used the coordinating dies to cut them out. I used liquid glue and double-sided foam tape to adhere the elements to the card. For the octopus, I added an action wobbler for added dimension and an interactive element.

I added the sentiment that I stamped with Versafine Onyx Black and cut out with its' coordinating die. I added Glossy Accents to the octopus and some fish to complete the card.

Just Keep Swimming Box Card

 

Hello everyone, happy Friday. DT Annalisa here today sharing a 3D box card I created using some new and older products from Time For Tea Designs. When I saw the ocean-themed July release, I knew I had to make an underwater box card featuring all the sea creatures.

I cut some Distress White Heavy cardstock by Ranger and used the 'ink smooshing' technique to add watered-down Distress Ink in Peacock Feathers. I pressed Peacock Feathers down onto my glass matt and sprayed it with water. I pressed the paper down into the watercolour to create a watery look. I then die-cut two pieces of this using the Box Clever Die Set. I also cut two wavy inserts using some dies I had in my stash and glued them on top of the inserts. Visit T4TD over on YouTube for a video on assembling the box. 

I will warn you that the Distress White Heavy cardstock no longer supports water the way it used to. My original Distress White Heavy cardstock could handle a lot of water. However, I purchased some new packages recently, and they 'bubbled up' whenever I added water. I will have to use the Distress Watercolor Cardstock by Ranger for watercolour techniques like this in the future.

I stamped the images from the Fintastic Friends and Beach Buds with Ink on 3 Blackout Ink and coloured them with my Copics. I cut them with their coordinating die sets; Fintastic Friends coordinating die and Beach Buds coordinating die. I added some white gel pen accents and Prisma Glitter. to some elements. I stamped the sentiment from Fintastic Friends using Versafine and die-cut it out with its' coordinating die. 

I assembled the box card using double-sided tape. I then used liquid glue to add all the critters and elements to finish the card.
